As I visit new pubs, bars and clubs in London and elsewhere in the UK I will bring to my diary pics of the venues and maybe some of the bar boys, waiters and glass collectors that they have to offer!!

I will rate the bars and clubs as to the ones that are worth a visit or maybe the ones that should be avoided at all cost. Obviously I will concentrate on gay venues but if I hit on a straight venue with a good attitude then hell why not include it. See if you agree with me.

Maybe I should hold a poll as to favourite bars or clubs by the regulars that go there. Hope to be in a pub or club near you soon!!!

  The Windsor Castle
  (Hounslow, West London)

This is my local bar, and I go here several nights during the week, as its nearby, friendly and I know quite a few people there now. They have regular acts on stage, which make me laugh every time I see them. The likes of Wilma Fingerdoo and Sandra are some of the better known drag acts. Each one has their own unique style and humour. Nearly every time I go in I get dragged up on stage by one of them, which ends up me getting embarrassed quite a bit, lol. The drinks are cheap (for London) and its free to get in, also, unlike most of the Central London gay bars and clubs, there isn't a cliquey attitude or that 'local pub for local people' feel. If you like bingo then on a Wednesday night Miss Jason hosts bingo with some rather decent prizes...well, the jackpot prize is the best, but if you're short of an electric knife or a juicer then pop along and you might just win one. The owners of the bar are really friendly as well, and they will allow anyone in, as long as they don't cause trouble...if they do the rather hunky doorman will get rid of them :-P Wilma Fingerdoo's Court of King Caratacus routine has to be seen to be believed...she does it at an incredible speed and its so funny watching the drunk people try and copy her lol! The Windsor Castle is a brilliant little place to go if you want a few drinks, a good atmosphere and the possibilty of pulling someone :-P The DJ plays mainly, commercial music but also plays handbag themes, karaoke and at time a bit more dancey tracks. The Windsor Castle now has Go-Go Boys on a Friday night, I'm one of them, so if you are down on a Friday, and you see me, say hi :-)

  G-A-Y @ The Astoria
  (Soho, Central London)

I've really been going to G-A-Y of late to go to Porn Idol, but I am going to review it anyway. G-A-Y @ The Astoria is set in a old theatre (The Astoria lol) and is actually quite big. They have major acts on stage that would make most gay men spunk in their little panties...like Madonna, Kylie Minogue, Spice Girls and Enrique Somthing or Other. Porn Idol has been the main 'attraction' as of late and many people come to see lots of guys get their dicks out on stage, not saying all of them are good looking, but there are the odd few :-) The whole atmosphere is different to most London clubs, like Fire or Heaven as G-A-Y is mainly camp classics and cheesy pop...which attracts, suprisingly, a wide variety or people, from bitchy queens, to straight acting scally boys and on occasions transvestites and drag queens!

  STARKERS!
  (Vauxhall, Central London)

The name says it all really, Londons biggest naked disc, held at Factory in Vauxhall is an experience not to be missed! I've been three times and ever time I enjoy it more and more. Its held the 3rd Friday of every month and is very popular. It isn't a gay event, but it is mainly 'populated' by gays. But you do see straight men, women and gay men in there, and you do see some sights as well...of course everyone is naked so you kind of get to see what you're going to get before you make a move. I always get up on the podium and dance, mainly cause I love dancing but also I love the attention I get while I'm up there :-P I've had people come up to me and ask if I've been hired by the club to dance for them...anyway enough about that. Starkers is mainly for open minded people who love being naked, its not in any way shape or form a sex club and they don't encourage any sexual activity there anyway. Its quite interesting to see men dancing there with full hard ons as if nothing is happening lol. Its definitely a place you have to try, at least once...believe me you wont' regret doing it. I can remember the first time I went there and I was so nervous, I didn't know where to put my hands or where to look, but after a few (rather expensive) drinks I felt more at ease and didn't mind people walking round naked, getting bashed by some woman's tits or not knowing where to put my hands :-S The worst bit is when you go to the toilet....cause it's so confusing to not have to undo your fly and pull anything down...you just stand there and pee....its funny, but strange. There are two rooms to the club, the hard dance room and the slightly handbag classics room...but its fun and everyone is comfortable and relaxed.

  Essential
  (The Village, Manchester)

Essential is one of Manchester biggest and best gay clubs. Situated just off the main gay area Canal Street it's a hot spot for the more 'straight acting' of gays, muscled guys and lots of chavs. Its the perfect place if you like your men to be slightly more masculine...or at least look it till they open their mouths lol. There are three floors full of music, drink and guys. The top floor is the Pop lounge, where, as the name suggests its cheesy dance/pop playing loud and proud. The middle floor is kind of like the lounge area, sofas, music and a bar...people come to meet friends and generally have a chill. The bottom floor is the hard dance floor with podium dancers, lights and everything the little raver in you desires. They have a range of nights on in Essential and its sister club Queer, ranging from Chav nights sponsored by fitlads.net, to all night benders. Admittedly for a Manchester club it is rather expensive, but believe me, after spending so much time in London clubs, the cheapness of this place was a welcome gift. Normally the door is patrolled by the 8ft tall drag queen Chrissie Darling who is a whole attraction on its own! All in all Essential is a brilliant night out, but has a very distinct taste in its customers. So yeah, a good club in all and I recommend you go there if you ever visit Manchester!
